MFR: MyoFascial Release in Groningen
Do you want to do MyoFascial Release (MFR) in Groningen? That’s possible with us! MFR is a method to massage and stimulate the deeper connective tissue. We regularly add MFR to a class, or include it in a workshop.
You can read on this page exactly what MFR is and whether it is right for you. If you already know enough, you can of course book your lesson immediately.
Classes
What is MyoFascial Release and is it right for me?
Myo means muscle, fascia means connective tissue. Fascia is the connective tissue in and around your muscles. Your muscles themselves also consist of fascia, but we won’t bore you with these details ;) Connective tissue is found everywhere in your body and actually connects everything together. It is therefore not surprising that tension in your connective tissue can lead to reduced mobility, pain and discomfort. With MFR techniques you improve blood circulation and lymphatic circulation (waste removal). This can reduce and sometimes eliminate your complaints.
What do you do in a yoga class with MFR?
We often do MyoFascial Release techniques using massage balls in different sizes, blocks and blankets. We apply pressure to a part of your body to loosen any blockages/knots. Just like a ‘normal’ massage, but now you learn to do it yourself. After the MFR we do yoga postures that match the exercises.
Practical
MFR for beginners
You can also do MFR as a beginner. We explain each exercise, demonstrate it and tell you what the exercise is for.
